There are many recipes that call for a shot or a drink to be lit on fire. This generally leads to a neat effect, or a certain taste, and looks pretty cool when done right.
Some liquors will ignite quite easily if their proof is high. Heating a small amount of the liquor in a spoon will cause the alcohol to collect at the top, which can then be easily lit. You can then pour this over the prepared ingredients. However, there are many things to keep in mind when dealing with flaming alcohol.
